Protection of Regulator
Chapter 5 · Supervision ยท Part A, Information Regulator
Any person acting on behalf or under the direction of the Regulator, is not civilly or criminally liable for anything done in good faith in the exercise or performance or purported exercise or performance of any power, duty or function of the Regulator in terms of this Act or the Promotion of Access to Information Act.

What this means for your estate
- Worth knowing for context: Regulator staff and investigators acting in good faith can't be personally sued for enforcement actions they take against your estate. If your estate disagrees with a Regulator decision, the right route is the statutory appeal process (ss.97-98), not a personal claim against the individual official.
